Beyond the tap

Water is essential for good health, we need it to flush out toxins from vital organs and carry nutrients to cells. We loose water every day through all our elimination organs : lungs, kidneys, bowel and skin. How much we need depends on each individual but the average adult needs about 2 litres for a woman and about 3 litres for a man . The amount also depends on exercise the environment, illness or health, pregnancy and breastfeeding.  Although it is great to drink lots of water its better we obtain part of it from food such as fruit and veg.
